Asia Travel Vaccinations

Find out more

Planning to travel to Asia?

Did you schedule your travel vaccinations yet? Free health travel information 1-877-936-0301

There are many Canadians who travel to Asia every year, so it is important to plan ahead for potential travel requirements in the specific destinations you plan to visit. Book a health consultation and vaccinations before you travel to ensure your health and compliance.

For North American travelers visiting Asia, the following vaccinations are often recommended:

Hepatitis A: This is a highly contagious liver disease that is spread through contaminated food and water. It's prevalent in many parts of Asia and is one of the most common vaccine-preventable diseases among travelers.

Hepatitis B: This is a viral infection that can cause liver damage, liver cancer, and other serious health problems. It's transmitted through contaminated blood, semen, and other bodily fluids.

Japanese Encephalitis: This is a viral disease that is spread by mosquitoes and is common in rural areas of Asia. It can cause severe brain inflammation and can be fatal.

Rabies: This is a serious viral disease that can be transmitted to humans through the bite or scratch of an infected animal, such as a dog or bat. Rabies is widespread in Asia, and prompt medical attention is essential for anyone who is bitten or scratched by an animal.

Typhoid: This is a bacterial infection that is spread through contaminated food and water. It causes fever, stomach pain, and other symptoms and can be serious if left untreated.

Get yourself vaccinated before traveling to Asia to reduce your risk of getting sick and to help protect you from serious and potentially life-threatening illnesses. In addition, some countries may require proof of vaccination as a condition of entry, so it's best to check before you travel or during your visit to any Amani travel clinic.

If you have any concerns or questions about travel vaccinations, be sure to consult our travel health specialists before your trip.
